Her movies are bad but cute. Her music is generally on the same level, although I kinda enjoyed some of the songs on her last album. She also got decently hot somewhere in there. However, I am currently baffled. I can't decide what to think about her new video:
Some shots she's attractive, some shots everything is disproportionate. She's obviously trying to change her image, which is fine, but I really am not about the lawn statue. I actually liked the longer dark hair, but the shorter style is good for going back to blonde but I wish she would have done her roots.
As for the music, I was mostly distracted by the video. The "reach out and touch me" bit sorta makes me think of an 80s song. Like Pat Benatar or something. I think it will get some radio play, but not sure how much. I'm definitely interested in the rest of this album. Wait, what? This is gonna be on a Best Of Hilary Duff album? Please tell me you're going to include songs from Metamorphosis...

So this is basically just Personal Jesus but with different lyrics. I don't think I approve. Covering a song would be one thing, but this almost feels like ripping it off.

Anyway. I think that both Britney and Christina have done this "image change" a lot more effectively in the past with "Slave" and "Dirty" - although some would argue as to whether or not "Dirty" is really moving in the right direction attractive-ness-wise.
I seem to remember LB making the distinction for putting 0's for girls. She wanted to make sure we knew the 1's were special.

I'm pretty critical of covers. Enough so to just write this song off as a rip off.
Putting Landslide by Smashing Pumpkins and a host of Hendrix songs as a 10, meaning what a cover should be, and Kid Rock's afterbirth of a cover "All Sumer Long" as a 1 I'd have to say this song rates as a 3.

The "Reach out and touch me" was reminding you of "Reach out and touch faith" I'm assuming. The second I heard the Personal Jesus guitar part I got pissed.
I'm actually pretty heated right now about this. Depeche Mode is one of the best fucking bands ever and while Hillary Duff is hot, she just fucked up a great song from the 1990 album Violator. This is bullshit, we cannot allow this madness to go on. FUCK YOU!!!!!
