Posted by Double MThis post is part of a series of posts entitled Bowl Game Bonanza Did you know that there are a bazillion bowl games? Well there are. And here at IR I am going to give you a quick breakdown of each game so that you know who is playing in the bowl, what channel and time the game is on (all times CST), and why you would or wouldn't want to watch the game.
Well, its day 2 of the bowls and the slate is considerably smaller today. This is probably due to the fact that the NFL is on all day. Also, if they ran 4 bowls a day, they'd have to create more meaningless bowls to fill the 40-some-odd days between the end of championship week and the actual title game (but there's no time for a playoff!).
On to the bonanza:
New Orleans Bowl: Troy (-4.5) vs. Southern Mississippi (ESPN, 7:15pm)
Location: New Orleans, LA, Louisiana Superdome
Announcers: Eric Collins, Shaun King
Troy and Southern Miss might be the only two schools left in the nation (outside of USC) that will go anywhere and play anyone. I have seen these guys play countless big school after countless big school. Of course, that doesn't mean you're going to watch this game. In fact, if the movie Troy (which was just OK) was on opposite of this with limited commercial interruptions, I would venture to say you'd watch that. Speaking of Troy, here's a good, quick fight scene from that movie.
Verdict: Both teams will be sluggish from doing what you do in the Big Easy. Troy rolls out a win and cover.
Regretometer: The Carolina Panthers and the New York Football Giants, two of the best NFL teams this season, are on Sunday Night Football tonight. Watch that and flip over to this on commercials. 4.5 regrets because you don't care about this game.

Look for Bowl Game Bonanzas everyday there's a bowl game.
