Bowl Game Bonanza: Tuesday, December 23rd

Posted by Double M

This post is part of a series of posts entitled Bowl Game Bonanza Did you know that there are a bazillion bowl games? Well there are. And here at IR I am going to give you a quick breakdown of each game so that you know who is playing in the bowl, what channel and time the game is on (all times CST), and why you would or wouldn't want to watch the game.

On to the bonanza:

Poinsettia Bowl: Texas Christian (-2.5) vs. Boise State (ESPN, 7pm)
Location: San Diego, CA, Qualcomm Stadium
Announcers: Terry Gannon, David Norrie
This is probably one of the best non-BCS conference bowl games you will see. TCU is a really good team. They are 10-2, but their only losses came from Oklahoma (who could only score 35 points against them - not 60!) and Utah (barely, 13-10) who are both in BCS games. Meanwhile, Boise is undefeated, albeit against a significantly easier schedule. Overall, it should be a great game to watch between two decent teams.

Verdict: Pray to God that TCU wins because hearing Boise talk about how they should be national champs because they are undefeated will annoy me. TCU wins and covers.
Regretometer: Relatively low because there's no football on, its a good game, and you can probably watch this at a bar while catching up with some friends (you don't have to work tomorrow anyway - its Christmas Eve!). 1 regret on the regretometer.

Look for Bowl Game Bonanzas everyday there's a bowl game.
