Bowl Game Bonanza: Wednesday, December 24th

This post is part of a series of posts entitled Bowl Game Bonanza Did you know that there are a bazillion bowl games? Well there are. And here at IR I am going to give you a quick breakdown of each game so that you know who is playing in the bowl, what channel and time the game is on (all times CST), and why you would or wouldn't want to watch the game.

Well, its Christmas Eve. Tonight is the night that my family generally celebrates Christmas. As a kid this was awesome because I got to open all of my presents when we got home from church. As an almost-adult this is awesome because I get to open my presents when I get home from church and have a beer with my mom (don't know why we do, but we always have a beer on Christmas Eve).

In any case, before going to church, I'll probably check out the lone bowl game that is on today.

On to the bonanza:

Hawaii Bowl: Notre Dame (+1) vs. Hawaii (ESPN, 7pm)
Location: Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, HI
Announcers: Dave Pasch, Andre Ware
Well, in the only bowl game of the day, on awful Notre Dame team is taking on a Hawaii team that is probably still mentally and physically recovering from their beat down from Georgia last year.

I'm going to level with you: I hate Notre Dame. They are in the top 5 of my hated college football teams. The fact that Notre Dame gets to go to Hawaii after beating one team with a winning record boggles my mind. I wish they would have gotten the bowl game in Detroit or Boise instead. All that said, their fans probably travel better than any other team. Last I heard, most of the tickets to the Hawaii bowl were almost sold out - in Hawaii. Think about that: this is not your average bowl trip, going to Hawaii is expensive and their fans are flocking there in the 1000's. Well done. Too bad your team sucks.

Verdict: Notre Dame beats the spread and wins (this game means too much to fatty Weis plus Hawaii is awful).
Regretometer: Notre Dame is a bad team, Hawaii is worse, and its Christmas Eve. Check the scores and turn it on in the 4th if Notre Dame is going to lose an you have nothing else to do. It's a 4.5 on the Regretometer.

You know what? Instead of watching that game, I recommend that you watch the entire Star Wars Christmas Special. If you've never seen it before, you're in for a treat.
