Chuck Woolery Knows How to Rebound from Rejection: Cats

Posted by Double M

I watch a lot of TV now, although I used to watch a lot more about 2 years ago. One of the things I used to watch was Playmania on the Game Show Network. It was on from 11pm - 1am and was an excuse for idiot people to call in and try to win money. Here's a clip of the show.

Obviously, you can tell why it isn't on TV anymore (Side Note: The biggest reason I liked the show: the hypnotic music in the background. That stuff could lull me to sleep like nobody's business). Of course, one of the biggest draws to the show was Shandi, a former Miss USA and all-star by comparison on the Game Show Network.

Well, GSN always advertised an awesome show called Lingo (is it still on TV somewhere?) during the commercials, and, as a faithful nighttime TV watcher, I decided to start watching it. Shandi was also on Lingo, but she wasn't the host - it was actually my man Chuck Woolery. In case you haven't seen it (or even if you have), here's some bloopers from Lingo.

Shorty after I started watching Lingo, Bob Barker announced he would be leaving the PIR. Sensing this as an opportunity to get my man into the kind of limelight he hasn't seen since Love Connection (clip below because its too good to pass up), I made a big push* for Woolery to get his shot as the host of the best game show ever.

Unfortunately, Woolery did not get the role (Drew Carey? Really?), Playmania got cancelled, and I quit watching all shows on the Game Show Network and, in the process, lost touch with Woolery.

But not getting the role on PIR didn't hold Woolery down. In fact, in November he came back with a show called Think Like a Cat. There doesn't seem to be any clips of the 5 episode $1 million contest, but the preview is available and included below.

See, even a rejection from some CBS bigwigs can't hold Chuck down. He's handing out $1 million! To cats! God bless him.

* By big push I mean I wrote 1-2 posts on my old blog and changed my Facebook picture to a shot of Woolery
