Things I Don't Get: Katy Perry's California Gurls Video

Here's something I have to admit: I actually like Katy Perry's song California Gurls. A song that, not surprisingly, is about how the awesomeness of California gurls girls.

There's no way you haven't heard this song, so take a second to think about the lyrics. This song should have a pretty straight-forward music video, right?

Well prepare to be confused. Here's the actual video:

I'm not saying it is a bad video (in particular, the scene with Snoop buried in the sand made me laugh) but why is that the video for California Gurls?

All that said, here's what my friend KL told me: don't ever question a video that includes a girl shooting whip cream from her boobs.
